Hiking in Schwangau

A hiking holiday in the Allgäu

The location of Schwangau is a dream. Surrounded by four crystal-clear lakes and the world-famous royal castles, you will hike along formerly royal bridle paths in the Ammer Mountain Nature Reserve and along high-altitude trails with spectacular views that will make your hiking heart beat faster. You will find the perfect tour for every type of hiker: from easy to challenging – from lightly rolling hills to steep uphill climbs.

Host Martin Helmer is happy to give tips for hiking tours around Schwangau. Our guests appreciate this service. We recommend riding one of our bikes to the starting point of your respective hiking tour. This has the advantage of leaving your car at the Hotel Helmer, not having to look for a parking space, and also not having to pay a parking fee. Alternatively, you can also use public transportation as an inclusive service.
